Stud & Stables

PROFILE:

I was born on this property ‘Somerset’, located 25 minutes from Hobart at Broadmarsh, in 1937 and was a part of a family deriving a living from this estate since 1832. Our farm has seen orchard, dairying, pigs, fat lambs, vegetables, grain and fodder production. I have been lucky enough to take a part in all pursuits. We currently grow commercial grade lucerne under irrigation. A surplus of dam and underground water compliments our thoroughbred stud and training stables. I have had 50 years enjoying life with horses and hope to spend many more. We operate a grain business producing commercial dry steam rolled oats, barley, lupins and maize under our own label. These grains are also used to ensure our horses are fed the best from ‘go to whoa’.

Please visit our stallions for 2008 page and download up to date files on both our stud stallions. Be sure to take a look at some of their wins in video format. The benefits for your horses can be viewed at our racing stables and we would like share with you some of our history. See Ticking Away, bred, born and raced all from the property to win his Launceston Cup and check out our feed store. Feel free to contact us if any further information is required for bookings or for our current rates.
